When the Real Thing Comes Along by Faith Simone

This book was recommended by someone on our 556 Facebook page...can't remember who, but thank you!
556 Book Chicks didn't want to read it...I will be the first to say I started reading the book and wanted to put it down immediately. I didn't want to become emotionally wrapped up in a religious book. Nothing against spiritual books, but sometimes they become too overwhelming and fake. I am so very glad that I stuck this one out. While it is spiritual, it deals with common situations and it was very realistic.
It was about a group of young people figuring out their place with God, and learning how to manage the bumps in the road along the way. Jacelynn finds herself in a love triangle with her current boyfriend Jason and her ex-boyfriend Taylor. Still broken from her previous relationship with Taylor, she is learning how to love and heal again with Jason. But when Taylor comes beating down her door and her defenses, she finds herself lost.
What I liked about this book...Like I said before it was believable. You could feel the anguish of Jacelynn trying to figure out what was next for her. You could feel her struggling with her faith with God and trying to find her way. You could feel how necessary it was for her to make people happy above herself. These are things we deal with on a day to day, and it was displayed beautifully in this book. Although I have to admit that Jacelynn got on my last darn nerve. Sometimes she was definitely #TeamTooMuch.
We recommend this book...to anyone struggling with their faith. It's an easy read and you can take the situations from the book and apply them to your life. It made me want to pray harder!
