The Love of an East Atlanta Boss by A'Zayler

I wasn't that wrapped up in this book at first. It took me a while to like get into it. I wasn't bored, I just wasn't excited either. But I loved me some Esso and his way of thinking. He was the balance to all the crazy stuff that was happening. He always had some truth to spill. Hell I was highlighting some of his stuff on my kindle. LOL! Real is real and knowledge is knowledge. I laughed and cringed every time Sonic started counting, because I didn't know if he was gone calm down or start beating the shit out of someone.
I think the book picked up when he stumbled across Jet and later realized they had history. It was a fast friendship turned relationship. She was quick to turn hot when she felt disrespected and I liked that she kept Sonic on his toes. She refused to let him walk all over her and treat her any kind of way. But at the same time she had this mystery man, and I'm waiting to see why she can't let this fool go.
So we are at the end and I am slowly getting into the book. My interest is beginning to peak a little more. But it's not until Jet is standing in the lobby of this Miami hotel with Sonic's boss that I knew something was about to pop off. But then the damn book ends...

It Ain't No Fun...
Love Me Through The Rain 2 by A'Zayler
4 out of 5 stars
So the series is totally picking up! Still a lot of unanswered questions, but it looks like it's headed in the direction of some discovery. Of course Love and Rain are doing the on again off again thing! Alex and his mystery man and his longtime are on again and off again. And things with Summer and Jacory are heating up!
I loved Summer and Jacory in this book! They are super funny and chill at the same time. They just plain stupid!!! And I was like about damn time you hook up! Summer is the best sister ever!!! When Love trying to speak through Jacory she ain't even trying to hear him. She ignored him oh so good. That's the sister/best friend every girl needs. Like Negro I ain't got no words for you...keep it moving!
Alex and all his drama, of course had me laughing. I felt sorry for Alex because we have all had a fool we didn't need to be with but couldn't help but love. I just want Alex to pick the right guy!
But honey the best part of this book...Lawd when Stacey still running his mouth about what didn't happen between him and Rain. Why the hell he thought Love was gone let that slide...I don't know. So after Love get through wiping the floor with his arse...Love starts calling around looking for Rain. Summer of course is being big sister and she ain't trying to hear what the hell he talking about. Well Love ain't checking for her either, and he finds himself on Rain's doorstep. Honey this was like when Cuba Gooding, Jr. went to Nia Long after his run in with the police in Boyz N The Hood. He was standing in her living room fighting the air with snot running down his nose. Yep! This was how powerful this scene was. I was like Love done turned into Trey honey!!!! They about to get back together with this makeup sex! Everything is now right in the world.
And his sister, Fallon, returns in this book. It was not what I was expecting or the reunion I was looking for, but honey she is back...

That Love...
Love Me Through The Rain by A'Zayler
3 out of 5 stars
Now don't get me wrong, I did like this book (3 stars does not make a book bad). It had a few grammatical errors, but otherwise a well written book. It was something missing though. Like the purpose?!?!?! The books starts off with a childhood memory for Love. Then it cuts to 18 years later, and Love is now a fireman. I understood the significance of his profession, but you also wonder if he has his hands into something else.
Love meets Rain! They fall into lust/love and begin seeing each other. Rain is still hung up over a cheating boyfriend from years ago, so even when you think her and Love are together - chile they not!
The best part of the book was dealing with Summer (Rain's sister) and their friend Alex. Summer and Alex were always somewhere being wild about something. I loved their back and forth banter and crazy antics.
So why did I give it 3 stars? Because it was missing something. What happened after his childhood incident? Where the hell is his little sister? For Love and Rain to be the main characters they had the less drama (until the end). Alex dealing with his down low men was more of a highlight that their love story.
Now the end will definitely have me continuing this series. Because I'm still wondering how Stacey thought he was somebody's boyfriend. Like really dude?!?!? I can't wait to see how this unfolds.Oh well on to book 2!!!
