Hopeless

Hopeless by Colleen Hoover

4.5 out of 5 stars

"I want to tell you exactly how I feel but there isn't a single goddamned word in the entire dictionary that can describe this point between liking you and loving you, but I need that word. I need it because I need you to hear me say it."

There was no way we were passing up another Colleen Hoover book! Have you read the other two (Slammed and Point of Retreat)? Our point exactly, Colleen Hoover has that "it" factor when it comes to writing books.

You might think this is just another teenage love story...but you will be soooo wrong in that thought. You forget all about the two people falling in love when you start to feel uneasy about what will happen next. Yes you will feel uneasy. You will not be prepared for the truth behind Sky and Holder's relationship.

Sky was adopted by her mom Karen when she was five years old. Karen does not believe in technology, so Sky is the only teenager without a television, cell phone and Internet. She is also home schooled. Until her best friend (and neighbor) Six (real name Seven) convinces her to enroll in public school her senior year. Only Six decides to spend 6 months studying overseas and leaves Sky to face high school alone. Unfortunately for Sky, being best friends with Six has given her the reputation of a slut, so making friends will not be an easy task for her.

Sky runs into Dean Holder, the typical good looking bad boy, who swears he knows her from somewhere. Everything in her gut tells her to stay away from Holder but there is a magnetic force that keeps drawing them together.

This is a story about feeling hopeless and finding hope. It is a story about love, forgiveness and sacrifice. It makes you mad...it makes you want to cry...and makes you love all over again.
