We were skeptical about reading this book! When you are caught up in reading love stories and a little suspense...you don't really want to stop and read a biography. You have to change your mindset to read a book that is so different from what you are used to reading. Richard Martin, Jr. did an amazing job sharing and telling his story. A lot of times when you read books based on a true story - they are long and boring! Daddy R U A Monster? allows the reader to understand his past relationships and his life lessons without being too overwhelmed in details.
It's a story of sacrifice, forgiveness and love. It's a story of having a better relationship with God and allowing him to lead you. You can feel God talking to him throughout the story - that's how well this book is written. It's a story of choices...there are many times he had to choose between doing what he knew was right or what felt right for the moment. It's a story of struggle...most of his life he was struggling with living in the world and being saved...and that is certainly something we all struggle with at some point in our life. It was a story of loss...he lost his mother at a young age, he lost his father to prison for a short while, he lost potential mothers because of his father's abusive behavior, and he lost the women he loved because he too possessed traits of the Monster.
There is so much we can say about this book...but we don't want to give the story away! It is an easy read and worth 1-clicking it on Amazon.
Kudos to Richard Martin, Jr. on this GREAT book!
