556 Book Chicks applauds K.A. Robinson...
K.A. Robinson quickly became a 556 Favorite with her Torn Series, and she delivered another hit with Shattered Ties. But I have to admit that I was on the fence when I realized that Jesse and Emma were still in High School. But this book was so freaking good...I could have cared less about them being anything other than Jesse and Emma.

New student Jesse Daniels has been accepted to Hamrick High School on scholarship...but he is not at all excited about entering holy snobby hell. Then he sees her - the little girl from the playground that reminded him everyday that he was not good enough for some people - and he knows that the year is going to be worst than he ever imagined. Emma Preston is not the same little girl from the playground, but her mother is and Emma has to play along with mommy dearest for now.

Emma and Jesse fall into a comfortable friendship. He makes her feel alive and free. Either of them can deny their attraction to each other, but they have to find a way to hide it from everyone else. But Jesse is not keen on being Emma's dirty little secret. Can their love survive being born on the opposite side of the tracks?

So one of my favorite moments...when Emma took Jesse to London. Ugh yeah she took him to London, her father's band was on tour over there and she convinced Jesse's mom to let him go. Anyway she failed to mention to her dad that she was bringing her boyfriend to London and when he walked in of them the next morning I was holding my freaking breath. 'We were busted, and I knew it. There was no point in Emma trying to lie. She'd only dig our graves deeper in the process.' I have to say that Jesse handled himself well against Emma's dad.

My Oh No She didn't moment...was when Jesse's friend Ally kept harassing poor Emma. I was like if Emma don't set her straight soon things are going to get worse. And to hell  if they didn't go from bad to worse quick..that damn Ally finally got her chance to corner Emma, "You think you're so badass, walking around with Jesse like you own him. Well, I've got news for you. He's mine, and you need to stay the fuck away from him." I was staring at the book like say what now...oh no this witch didn't go there. But don't think for one minute that is all Ally has up her sleeve.

I am telling you - you will become so engrossed in this book that you will not want it to end. And the way it ends - Ugh! When I finished the book I closed the kindle and opened it back up and reread the final page - I looked up and said F-you K.A. Robinson. LOL! I could not believe she left me hanging like that. So you already know my anticipated read for 2014 is Shattered Ties - Book Two!

556 Book Chicks wonder if it's possible...
For the second book to be just as great as the first book! In this case Yes, yes, and YES! I was so excited to read this book and I was not disappointed at all!!! K.A. Robinson has become that author I will buy without even looking to see what the book is about. Just 1-click it because her name is on it. K.A. Robinson you freaking ROCK!

So when we left you in Torn (Book #1) - Drake and Chloe had finally found their way to each other. It took them long enough! Well in true cliffhanger style, K.A. Robinson, left us with Chloe's mom standing at the front door. So I couldn't wait to dive into Twisted to see what the hell that evil troll wanted. I am still fuming over the nerve of this crazy woman...FUMING! Andrea Richards is a nice piece of work and she doesn't have a maternal bone in her freaking body. She comes knocking because she needs Chloe to do her part so she can reap the reward. And if Chloe doesn't agree to help her, she has promised to make her life a living hell. "Fine, you spiteful brat, but I'll be back for you in two weeks if you don't show up. I'll drag you into my car if I have to." Let me tell you my hand would still be hurting from slapping this lady!

But the mom will not be the only one you are mad at in Twisted. Oh no bayyybeee you will be spitting nails at a couple of folks, but can you believe that Logan won't be one of them! Yay! I was over him in book #1, but I did hear he was getting a book of his own and I can't wait to read it. What? Don't judge me - yes I thought he was a wuss in Torn but that doesn't mean I don't want to read his book. Anyway....back to the people that are going to have you mad...no make that PISSED! Besides the mom...we have Drake (Oh yeah you heard me right), Jordan, and Kadi. I don't know how my poor kindle survived me reading this darn book.

Here is the tricky part...we can't really tell you how this book unfolds without spoiling the book. You know it is when one thing leads to another and that leads to a spoiler! UGH! I am so tempted to spoil this book for you...I will tell you what I can! Chloe has an aunt that is dying from Cancer and this is why her mom came looking for her. See if Chloe goes to visit the aunt then the mom can collect her portion of the inheritance money...Hmmmm! Did I mention how I much I despise this woman? This woman will leave your mouth hanging wide open for most of the book - just remember to breathe.

Chloe barely makes it out of one love triangle and here comes another one (Jordan) that wants to stake his claim. Oh but you already know that Drake is not having none of that foolishness! But what will happen when Drake has to leave and go on tour? OMG did I forget to tell you Drake is going on tour? OMG the band has made it! I can tell you that Kadi ("Drake's Stalker) plays a huge part in bringing Drake's past demons back to life. And I just wanted to hug him and shake him all at the same damn time!!! UGH Drake - NOOOooooo! I have to say even through all his foolishness he was still Top 3 of my book boyfriends for sure!

Did I mention how good I thought this book was? In case I didn't, I loved this book! This book will have you questioning your reasoning...can you continue to love someone even when they are destroying themselves? It will have you crying, rejoicing, holding your freaking breathe...you are going to have pregnancy hormones while reading this book. LOL! But at the end of it - you will not be disappointed! Fantastic job on the sequel to a great series!

I could not put this book down....

556 Book Chicks give thanks...
OMG, I have to thank the Book Gods for dropping this book in my lap! I mean really I was just saying I needed a book to make me fall in love with books all over again. And Lord knows I found in it Torn. This was a really good book - I am still thinking about it a week later. Wow!

Torn was funny and sarcastic...it was me! Every girl can see a little of themselves in Chloe...a good friend, a little weird but in a cool sort of way, unaware of how beautiful she is..."You're one of the sexiest women I have ever seen and you have no idea just how beautiful you are, do you? You have no clue the effect you have on men, on me." Hmmmm...Then there are her best friends Logan and Amber. Hmm! I like Amber by default, she was there for Chloe when she needed someone the most, so she kind of gets a free pass with me. But Logan I didn't like him from jump. My cousin thinks he is all sweet and every time we talk about him she says awwweee poor Logan. I on the other hand thought he was a little Biotch! Sorry but no bueno to Logan!

One of the funniest moments was when Amber and Chloe went to a party, and Chloe was walking home from the party and she tripped. OMG like I could totally picture that crap happening. 'I started walking in the direction of my dorm when the spike on my heel caught in a crack on the sidewalk. I flew forward and landed face-first with my ass sticking up in the air.' Tell me you aren't cracking up right now! I was dying laughing. But I would fall a million times if that means Drake Allen would pick me up! 'Mr. Tall, Dark, Tattooed, and Pierced...'

So Chloe is not looking for love but finds herself in a freaking love triangle!!! Oh yes honey - I said a love triangle. Drake gives her the tingling where it counts, but Logan has been her friend for so long and she can trust him. Logan was so annoying to me - I want to take me out myself. LOL! How can you get friendship confused with love? Like he saw the way she was with Drake - he had to know her feelings for him were not the same. Yet, he kept pushing her to enter into a relationship with him. That's what made him a little Biotch to me!!! But in defense of Logan, Drake pushed her to him. Then when she was gone of course that's when Drake realized he wanted her back! Typical damn man!

When someone is running through your veins like that - it's going to be hard to move on from it. So you know if you taste test it - once will not be enough! "If you want me, take me. If this is what it takes for us to get each other out of our systems, then we'll do it and move on." It's kind of like the potato chip commercial where you can't have just one...Hmmmmm! I know you are dying to find out what happens! You don't want to miss it.

I was ready to bring out the boxing gloves on two people. 1. Amber - sorry I said she gets a free pass and this is true, but there is a part of the book where I was mad about where her loyalty was. As the men say Bros before Hoes - well it works the same for us (or it should) Chicks before (oh my)! I bet you thought I was going to say it...LOL! You can fill in the blank! And 2. Chloe's mom - was a b%tch from another planet. I wanted to strangle her. How can a mother be so darn heartless? "I'm your mother, whether I want to be or not, so I'll talk to you however I want. Now, where are you? We have some things to discuss." 

There is so much to tell...tattoos, piercings, rock bands, car sex (and not inside of the car sex), did I mention bands and piercings already? I have to say thank you again to the Book Gods for making K.A. Robinson tell this story! Absolutely loved this book!
