Not at all what I thought...

Wrecked by Priscilla West

2.5 out of 5 stars

556 Book Chicks majorly disappointed...
I really wanted to like this book - I mean really, really wanted to like it. I still want to like it. The story line was on it's way to great - I mean who doesn't love an underground fighter? A bad boy? You start drooling just thinking about him being your next book boyfriend, but darn it if this story just never developed for me. Ugh!

I think it would have made a huge difference if the POV came from Hunter and Lorrie, as opposed to just Lorrie. I could not fully invest in Hunter's story without his POV. And by the time Priscilla West decided to give us Hunter's POV, there was already a disconnection from the story. So by the time his secret was exposed it was too little too late for me.

Now don't get me wrong there were good parts to the book - they were just not enough of them. My favorite part of the book was when Hunter's ex-girlfriend told Lorrie off. It was like (fist pump) it's about time someone told her selfish arse off. Lorrie had just climbed out of her selfish hole and finally decided to go look for Hunter after a few days of not speaking to him. And of course she jumps to conclusions when she sees him with Ada. And Ada let's her have it, "You're going to feel like such a bitch when you find out the truth. You think you're the only one with problems, Ms. Sob story?"

And I also loved when Hunter found the kittens and him and Lorrie started taking care of them - it was super cute. There is also the crazy banter between Hunter and Lorrie that can have you laughing at times. But as a whole the book was just blah...Lorrie spent too much time dwelling on the murder of her mom and her dad's suicide. Seriously the way she carried on was like she killed them both. And then the way she behaved when she got the letter from her mom's killer - damn if it wasn't overkill.

So would I read Book #2? Yes! LOL! Why? Because I am glutton for punishment. LOL! No seriously, because the book had potential and I would love to see if Priscilla West picked up on it and developed the story just to give us a little more POW. And well I need to see how and when Lorrie will discover the secret that has Hunter burden down...and if she feels stupid after she finds out.
