Jack Carter is backkkkkk

The Game Changer by J. Sterling

3 out of 5 stars

556 Book Chicks kind of disappointed...
I couldn't wait to read this book. I had actually been waiting for it to go on sale so I can finally catch up with Jack and Cassie. After everything they went through in the first book, I was anxious to see if they would finally get their HEA!

I have to say that I was very disappointed in The Game Changer, it repeated too much of the first book. The Perfect Game ended with Jack sending her all the notes and appearing at her doorstep to claim his woman...great ending...absolutely loved The  Perfect Game. But I was not expecting to relive the entire story again in the sequel. It was too much of a repeat. We already knew what happened between Jack and that fake pregnancy, gold-digging witch from Alabama, and personally I was over it and ready to move on already. Honestly, Cassie got on my last nerve in this book. She was super weak and annoying and I wanted to knock some sense into her.

I really liked how Jack worked hard to win her back! Jack got traded to NY and everything is going good, until the media starts to eat Cassie alive. She can't even have dinner without being followed or have her picture taken. Jack warns her not to become wrapped up in the stories on the social networks or in the media, but Cassie finds it hard to resist when she is front and center. The baseball fans are heckling her and the baseball wives are beyond bitchy towards her, and to top it all off she is only rated a 5 in Hotness. LOL! Oh baby did that 5 rub her the wrong way, and she packed her bags and left Jack with only a simple promises of returning to New York.

I did love that we still got to catch up with Grams, Gramps, Dean and Melissa. Although I do wish that Dean and Melissa had more of a story...ugh what is up with her already! She better snatch Dean off the market. I am really hoping Book #3 is more of their story!

The Game Changer did have a turn around point - that saved the book! You will enjoy the drama with the driver / bodyguard / friend, but it will make you question Cassie at the same time. Ugh! Did I mention she was annoying in this book. You will also love the way the book ended. I have to say that I am very interested in reading Book #3 - The Sweetest Game.
